Job Description
The Project
ACCIONA has been selected to deliver Western Harbour Tunnel – Stage 2, Sydney’s third harbour crossing. The new Western Harbour Tunnel (WHT) will connect to WestConnex at the Rozelle Interchange, cross underneath Sydney Harbour between Birchgrove and Waverton, and connect with the Warringah Freeway near North Sydney.
Project scope includes:
- Construction of approximately 4.8 kilometres of mainline tunnels with three lanes in each direction
- Civil, Mechanical and Electrical fitout of Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunnels
- Surface level work, including on and off ramps and tie-in work to the Warringah Freeway
The Opportunity
In line with the above, ACCIONA are now looking for an Civil Supervisor to join the Western Harbour Tunnel Project. The Supervisor will support the civil fitout team at our Glebe Island site.
Key accountabilities for the position:
- Oversee construction works associated with tunnel civil fitout; manage labour, plant and resource requirements.
- Coordinate and supervise labour and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with safety standards and project specifications.
- Manage the daily operations of surface works, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Ensure adherence to high-risk construction activities and relevant safety documentation (SWMS, CWMS, SOPs).
- Participate in or conduct site audits, client meetings, sign-offs, safety inspections and other requirements, at appropriate stages for each project,
- Collaborate with other disciplines to align works with program deadlines and milestones.
- Review construction and installation methodologies for all surface works, ensuring correct use of equipment.
- Perform inspections, testing, and verification of installed systems.
Required Skills and Competencies
Capability & Experience you will need to have:
- Proven experience in managing Civil works in major infrastructure projects.
- Experience with FRP packages and Cranes would be highly advantageous.
- Familiarity with industry safety standards and the ability to review safety documentation.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to work with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to solve problems and handle complex technical challenges on-site.
